As you might already know, between the 9th and 14th of April the largest design event in the world takes place in Milan, Italy. Salone del Mobile, otherwise known as iSaloni draws artists, designers, architects and design lovers from far and wide. As such there is a lot to discover. You already saw our blog on the design districts and its must-sees, but here are some top events you should visit during Salone del Mobile.

Design Pride 2019 and party Tempo Rocks Piazza Affari
Starting from the Piazza Castello the Design Pride starts its fourth edition and invades once again the 5 VIE district. In collaboration with Seletti they will bring their pop and democratic soul to the streets of Milan. The street parade will feature Esselunga and their famous vans which were customised by the students of IED Milan. Furthermore, you will be able to enjoy a spectacular performance of Sammontana.

The Pride will end at Piazza Affari where the party Tempo Rocks will start. Here you can celebrate the new Tempo handkerchief box by Diesel and taste incredible food from Heinz.
As a part of the Milan Design Week events, the Design Pride and party Tempo Rocks will take place on April 10th at 7 PM. Don’t miss it!
Landmark at Driade’s flagship store
Are these events not for you but you do seek to visit a one of a kind exhibition and discover new designs. Then, you should check out Driade’s Flagship Store. They host a one of a kind installation named Landmark. It was curated by their new Art director Fabio Novembre and is supposed to be the platform where you can discover their newest creations. You will be able to encounter designs in different dimensions and scales but all with the same design principles that made Driade famous.

An extraordinary world by Marc Ange
During Milan Design Week, there are many events to visit, but none of them are as impressive as the extraordinary world by Marc Ange. Marc Ange is known for creating larger- than-life installations, this exhibition features a multifaceted experiential journey inside the memory of his childhood dreams.

The exhibit takes place in the Palazzo Cusani in the heart of the Brera Design District, which has been known to host amazing events each year. This historic 17th-century palace will add to the amazing designs of the installation.

Starting from the outdoor courtyard, you can see a fantasy garden bar created in collaboration with St-Germain. Leading up to the main floor, you can see a multitude of connected halls which each propose a different look into Marc Ange’s utopian world and each unveils another furniture piece from his Extraordinary furniture collection.

Along with the new pieces, you can also discover a new version of his famous daybed Le Refuge with a now Terrazzo base and textured fabric. This piece can be found in the bedroom aptly named Le Refuge de La Nuit or Escape from the night.
You can visit the exhibition between the 8th and the 14th of April between 11 AM and 9 PM except for Wednesday. Then the exhibition closes at 4.30 PM for an invite-only cocktail party.
