Joana Vasconcelos
Joana is a renowned Portuguese artist and with her participation in the 2005 edition of the Venice Biennale, she affirmed her career within the international art circuit. She did this with her piece “A Noiva” or “The Bride”, which was a huge scale chandelier made with over 25.000 tampons.
Since then she is known for showing inventive creations in the field of plastic arts and her most famous works include “Call Center”, “Red Independent Heart”, “Rooster of Barcelos” and many more.
A Arte de Viver
For her exhibit today in Lisbon, Joana Vasconcelos has teamed up with Roche Bobois to reinvent six of their furniture pieces. They include two AVA chairs, The Lady B and Nuage armchairs, the Sismic and Cute Cut coffee tables and the iconic Mah Jong. The pieces will be exhibited in Joana Vasconcelos’ studio where the artist herself will be present.
