Kelly Wearstler

For this 4,000 sq. ft. triplex loft in Tribeca Kelly creates her signature mix of raw and refined details. Extravagant gleaming metals in such functional items as the kitchen cabinetry blend with playfully proportioned Italian modern 80’s furniture. The extremely durable cerused and ebonized walnut floors are seen throughout the residence pay homage to the clients’ busy lifestyle. All of this together created the perfect interior design.

Victoria Hagan Interiors

In a high-rise apartment overlooking the city’s waterfront, decorator Victoria Hagan creates the interior design of a suave space as compelling as the sparkling views. The designer’s initial response to space and the views informed most of her choices. “The star of this film isn’t the apartment, it’s Milwaukee,” explains Hagan, who has little interest in creating eye-popping stage sets. “The city has an understated elegance. You don’t want to shout. And that made designing this home especially rewarding for me because in all my work I think there are grace and beauty in a little . . . less.”

Alessandra Branca

This Ultra-Luxe 1910s Mansion on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive designed by wonderful Alessandra Branca. Under her guidance, the four-story Georgian edifice has become a neoclassical refuge bathed in supersaturated color and rich textures—the perfect interior design for its owner, a man-about-town, to sip a Campari on a balmy May afternoon.

LDa Architecture & Interiors

A new project from LDa Architecture & Interiors grounds its distinctly contemporary interior design in the ancient Hindu architectural principles. Called Vastu Shastra, the complex Hindu system of design prioritizes geometry and arrangement of space, emphasizing themes like symmetry, function, and nature.

Kara Mann

A clean, minimal approach to design doesn’t have to result in austerity. Take for instance this modern, sprawling apartment Kara Mann created for a couple, Kitzia and Richard Goodman. Situated in a prestigious Chicago building in the Gold Coast historic district, the primary residence melds stark lines with textural richness from the marble, velvet, and even églomisé that Mann employed throughout the interior design of the rooms.
