ICFF is happening this month in New York, but that is not the only event that is taking place. Spotools is going to show you everything and keep you updated every week about the events.

What is happening in New York during ICFF

ICFF takes place between the 19th and the 22nd of May. However, as a part of the big design event NYCxDESIGN, there are lots of other events to visit at the same time.

NYCxDESIGN

When: 10th of May – 20th of May

NYC Jewelry Week Presents: Emerging Jewelers x Jonathan Adler

When: 10th – 19th of May

During ICFF, you can visit NYC Jewelry Week and the work of emerging jewellery designers and artists at the Jonathan Adler Showroom. You will be able to get to know new talent, buy amazing, unique pieces and talk to the artists behind the designs.

Coil + Drift presents Assemblage

When: 15th – 19th of May

Another event that is worth your while to visit during ICFF is the Coil + Drift temporary showroom where they will be launching their latest collection: Assemblage. At the exposition, you can view the newest lighting pieces by Coil- Drift and also furniture pieces from their already existing collections with new finishes.

UNEARTH ASIA by DESIGN PIER

When: 15th – 19th of May

ICFF is the home to innovation and unique designs but for those that are looking for exclusive Asian designs, the UNEARTH ASIA exhibit at the DESIGN PIER is the place to be. You can discover and rediscover Asian design and the defining role of their cultural diversity in their contemporary designs. The exhibition showcases only 30 furniture and design pieces and some of them are only coming to New York for the first time. You can find designs from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.

WantedDesign

When: 16th – 21th of May

Another big event taking place during ICFF, even if it is under the wing of NYCxDESIGN, is WantedDesign. WantedDesign is split between two different locations, their campus in Brooklyn at Industry City and this campus in Manhattan at their Terminal Stores.

In Brooklyn, WantedDesign will highlight what they are all about, namely a place where innovators and makers can meet. For visitors, it is the ideal place to find exhibits that feature design research, immersive installations, workshops and other cultural collaborations. They have a major focus for design education with over 30 international school participating in the showcase. Furthermore, it is also a family friendly environment and a fun day trip to get children involved in design.

In Manhattan, WantedDesign is more about international designs with designers and furniture pieces from France, Mexico, Brazil, El Salvador, Colombia, Chile, Canada, etc. This fair is the place to be to talk to emerging designers and established international designers. Furthermore, the Launch Pad design competition also takes place here and you can take part in some engaging conversations of WantedDesign in collaboration with Design Milk and Clever.
