Jo Hamilton is undoubtedly one of the United Kingdom’s top interior designers. Her website probably describes her best – an interior designer who is “noted for her confident grasp of colour, intelligent use of space and luxury aesthetic”. Having founded her own interior design consultancy in 1995, she has been consistent in the creation of amazing spaces. Whilst involved in projects in her home country of Great Britain, she has also been involved in projects in New York City, Miami, Geneva and Dubai.

Jo Hamilton has worked on a range of projects, including high-end residential designs, bars, restaurants, clubs, offices and boutique hotels. Whilst her designs do have her own distinctive style, she is always inspired by the tastes and personalities of all of her clients.

Jo Hamilton has also been known by two other names, which perhaps say everything about what she specialises in. ‘The UK’s Colour Queen’ and ‘The Dame of Glamour’. It only takes a quick scroll through her design firm, Jo Hamilton Interiors’ website to see that she is fully deserving of these nicknames.
Hamilton’s designs often strongly feature neutral colours which always ooze class. Often combining white, different shades of grey, and occasionally darker colours. She also often incorporates interesting patterns, without ever going overboard.

Observatory Gardens, Kensington

Jo Hamilton more than lives up to her nickname of The UK’s Colour Queen with this lounge and fireplace in Observatory Gardens, Kensington, London. Hamilton uses a great combination of white and different shades of grey, stylish chairs with gold trim to make the lounge both cosy and luxurious at the same time.

In the world of interior design, dining rooms are often the showpiece of a property, which can sometimes neglect what is actually best to make a house a home. The dining room, by the kitchen in this Kensington house by Jo Hamilton combines both stunning design with a homely feel. She once again displays her eye for neutral colours, and how best to combine them.

This white kitchen is both stylish and functional. This, along with the other rooms in the house show that Hamilton is a designer that is capable of designing entire houses to a very high standard.
